Alex Dutty - "Emoji" feat. Black Rose [London]

This song is so clean. I've been looking for some new music and this ill lightweight caribbean vibe almost made made me forget it's 30* outside. Really diggin' the London scene the last few years. Check this out and let me know what you think.

Aside from his gritty determination to succeed, what sets Alex apart from other rappers is his ability to entertain the listener whilst remaining completely honest. Choosing to shy away from the stereotypical ‘guns, drugs, money and hoes’ content, the rapper delivers brutally candid and relatable accounts of his deprived childhood. The artist touts himself as a mouthpiece for people that grew up in broken homes who battle financial issues, self-doubt, and hardships on a daily basis- issues which are rife on his forthcoming debut album ‘Knock Down Ginger’.

Also a producer and engineer, Alex has been busy completing his debut album 'Knock Down Ginger’ for the last 5 years. The album takes its name from the popular kids’ game he grew up playing as he moved house from hostel to hostel during a childhood that would be completely foreign to most people. The name also pays homage to his physical characteristics, namely his ginger hair. Set for release 7th September 2018, ‘Knock Down Ginger’ is a collection of honest, strong, and sometimes controversial songs, including lead single ‘Emoji’ which tackles love, break-ups, and social media.

Andyva releases new video on Blockchain Record Label

Younk is a new Blockchain-enhanced record label allowing artists to be paid and earn distribution and promotion from their label. It's a really cool idea in the digital age and I'm really interested in seeing how it can grow.

A key component in the success of a new label is the talent! If a label has no flagship artists or talent what do you do. I just checked the new video from urban pop artist, Andyva for his new video, "Sexclusive".

The song itself represents a blend of a chill dance arrangement, sexy vocals and meaningful lyrics… something you don’t often hear in today’s music. Kurt gefke (producer and art director) told Younk “I mean it’s a throwback but it’s contemporary
It’s something that pretty much any generation can listen to”. Despite the challenge of expressing all of the messages and hidden meanings in one music video the team was able to create a perfect visionary.

Lexxa - "Slow Fade Out"

Got this in my email today and realized I'd been so busy running my professional basketball team that I'd been neglecting my favorite platform. Something about the email subject caught my attention and the song is dope. Something hip to blog to. I'm a fan. Check the official words:
On this Saint Valentine's day, kiwi alt-pop duo LEXXA share a vivacious new bop that is anything but a love day tribute. Sorry loved up relationship people, this one isn’t for you.

Co-written with the inimitable combined forces of Chelsea Jade, Jess B and Nakita at a recent APRA AMCOS SongHubs workshop, slow fade out is the follow up to Maude and Julia Morris’ earlier earworm get out. The latter premiered worldwide on US Billboard in November, and featured on Billboard’s Best of 2018 list as chosen by the chart team and readers.

With gutsy, heart-on-your-sleeve lyrics, the pair broach the nauseating undercurrents of millennial dating over expansive synth arrangements that pay homage to the 80s. slow fade out is a snapshot of a whirlwind romance gone cold; an emotional implosion brought on by the blurring of lines and misunderstandings over what is and what isn’t. It is the experience of a natural disintegration of a relationship, dragged out over the course of time without ever meaning for it to end, yet never really knowing where it began. A beautiful, messy accident.
