Kiana Ledé shares her live Vevo LIFT performance of "Can I"

Vevo announces the release of LIFT artist, Kiana Ledé’s, second piece of content for “Can I” from of her new Myself EP. Vevo’s LIFT initiative connects today’s up-and-coming artists to audiences around the globe through video content. Launched in 2011, Vevo's artist development program shines a spotlight on the world's freshest new talent. Vevo LIFT alumni include the likes of Sam Smith, Halsey, Khalid, Jorja Smith, SZA, Julia Michaels, Billie Eilish and CNCO. Ledé's LIFT performances follow those of Def Jam Recordings’ YK Osiris, who recently premiered a live version of his hit “Worth It” as well as a short film, “YK Osiris: Young King.”

R&B starlet Kiana Ledé has quickly developed from childhood phenom to one of the world’s most promising and intriguing young stars. A true mix of cultures, African, Latino and Native American, Kiana crafted her own unique vocal sound into a natural blend of these global, expressive influences. Kiana dropped her Selfless EP, featuring “Show Love” and “Ex” in 2018 after previously starring in MTV’s Scream and having a track on the chart-dominating Official Soundtrack for Fifty Shades Freed. A Vevo DSCVR alum, Kiana’s LIFT content will include live performances of an assortment of tracks from her new Myself EP.

“For my Vevo LIFT session, I reimagined ‘Can I’ with harp, strings and piano, because when I was younger and in Orchestra, I developed a real love and admiration for classical music and the beautiful arrangements,” said Kiana Ledé. “With ‘Shawty,’ I wanted to highlight and bring out that brightness and playfulness that I felt when I wrote it. The little Reggae vibe at the end was totally impromptu on day of shooting with Vevo. We just stumbled into it and had to finish it that way. You can see how much fun we had doing that in the final performance and I’m thankful to Vevo for making my vision come to life.”

The Twinz - "My Way"

After performing under the name 'Da Commission'(Mon$taa Mic and Appollo) for more than a decade the duo had reached the conclusion that it was time for a change. Despite seeing success regionally and receiving praise from legends in hip hop (Machine Gun Kelly, Sheek Louch, Edo Maajka & Pharcyde), being featured on projects in the US and Europe as well as
releasing their debut album (The Gods Fury) which opened doors for them internationally. With the new brand and the releases they have planned the ambitious brothers intend to make a bolder and farther reaching impact this time around.

'We have always been hyped on stage, no matter the crowd or venue and we never had open rehearsals before. Now we are working hard on taking that performance to the next level and sharing it through streaming so that listeners who never had the chance to catch us live can witness how we put it down at shows'

Mike said in an interview recently. It is all part of them creating and releasing more content than ever before which is something they had always wanted to do. The brothers are kicking up a storm and plan to ride in on the back of it with their specific style and undeniable charisma.

Having worked with well known artists and producers (Koolade, Wayne Beckford, Vojko Vrucina & Spinz) they are no strangers to recording with top level professionals within the industry which developed their skills and added to their ambition. The Twinz have reached a new level in their creativity that was never planned, it merely occurred and it sounds like it was just what they needed.

The song was written & performed by The Twinz. The video was shot on location in Croatia over a weekend and has The Twinz enjoying themselves while being whisked away by beautiful women to a secluded villa. The video was directed by Dino Kadragic while Photography was overseen and shot by Srdan Tutic and Dr. Darko Kero (Monochrome Award Winner). The Twinz look sharp in their premier music video displaying charm with engaging visuals setting the tone for a great introduction to the world.

We dropped the FIRST compilation album for a Pro Sports League!

I was excited when I first heard the American Basketball Association was back. The original lasted from 1967-1976 and the NBA absorbed 4 of their teams (Pacers, Nets, Nuggets, Spurs) but it was re-launched in 2000 by original co-founder of the ABA/Pacers (RIP Dick Tinkham) & Joe Newman (current CEO). I started a pro team (Akron Aviators) and we just finished our 2nd season. I'd had a league position, too but a NEW division was created just for me, ABA Fusion so I can 'fuse' music and sports. Pretty fitting since that's what I'm doing with Royal Heir Entertainment.

I told Joe I wanted to release a compilation album and he said he'd been wanting to do that for Years. Well, let's do it. So I did it. lol I enlisted the help of my homie, of course but hit my network for some of the best independent/undiscovered/worldwide talent I could, and of course had to offer a spot to the owner of the Atlanta Rappers ABA team (Kigity K).

Hip-Hop In: Sweden (SHN)

I wasn't sure what to expect because the last couple songs I listened to/gave feedback on were kinda weak...I'm kinda discriminatory when it comes to artist names or corny emails (sorry, kinda) but saw dude was Swedish and wasn't sure how to pronounce SHN (it's Shyne, not shin, btw). As SOON as the keys hit I was sold and SHN didn't disappoint. This is dope. I'm actually going to play it a 2nd time while I finish writing this. He's dope.

SHN (Shyne) born 21 Dec. 1988 in Ängelholm, Sweden. He is an energetic HipHop/Soul artist who delivers a message in both english & swedish.

At an early age he fell in love with music & became comfortable being up on stage, but it wasn't until 2016 when SHN moved to Bergen, Norway he really started to take the music seriously. He has under a short time established his name around the county where he now wants to expand with all of his upcoming music. He has started the year with powerfull releases such as "Park It" & Vibration" and recently he released his latest debut in swedish "SHN - Vem Är Han" (SHN - Who Is He)

His goal is to spread globally regardless of the language he does, since his perspective on music is that its a universal tounge and that goodvibes can be felt every where no matter what language!

Today, SHN works full time as a constructionworker, lives for family, health & diet, loves to travel, where he invests all his spare time to be in the music studio.

No day passes without his dream & the vision of being able to put work aside to go all-in for what he so passionately loves music

Justin Park - "On the Low"

I allowed Youtube to take me down the musical rabbit hole and ended up at Justin Park's "On the Low". This dude is DOPE. I listened/watched a few videos of his and I'm hooked. Listen to "On the Low" below and enjoy the recommended videos.

E-40 introduces "Melt" to the urban vernacular

Been an E-40 fan since The Source Hip-Hop Hits vol 2. Makes sense 40 Water retires 'drip' for the melt. New video featuring Milla is slick. Video is bright and clean. No words just watch.

Renowned for his spectacular vernacular, few wordsmiths in the rap game can stand up to E-40. Announcing the second installment in his "Definitions Trilogy," E-40 prepares to launch Practice Makes Paper, his upcoming project. With a massive vocabulary and a knack for finding hidden meanings, E-40 earned a reputation as one of the best lyricists in hip-hop, twisting phrases that embed themselves in listener's heads and in the culture at large: Captain Save-a-Hoe, Broccoli (weed), Fetti (money), and more. In the upcoming project, 40 flashes superior slang, having his way with rap lingo and coining some more indelible phrases of his own. The follow-up to 2018's The Gift of Gab, which featured appearances from Vince Staples, Ty Dolla $ign, and more, Practice Makes Paper arrives this spring via Sick Wid It Records.

Reaching levels of drip heretofore unseen by mankind, E-40 shares "Melt," his latest video. Showcasing his signature elastic delivery atop a rubbery mob bassline, 40 and guest star Milla coin a new phrase for 40's supernatural level of flexing: I don't drip, I melt. Rocking all white and drawing attention to his jewels, E-40 leads an underwater dance party in the new video, which features cameos from Bay Area figures like P-Lo, Nef The Pharaoh, and ShooterGang Kony, all while he indulges in the creative lyricism that made him famous: Water, water, the Waterboy Bobby Boucher/Drippy neck, spent about $200k.

In addition to his legend status in the rap game, E-40 is a mogul in the world of adult beverages. His premium tequila, E Cuarenta, can be found at retailers across the West Coast, including Safeway, BevMo!, Total Wine & More, Save Mart, Albertson's, FoodMaxx, Raley's, Lucky Supermarkets, Costco, and more.

Alex Dutty - "Emoji" feat. Black Rose [London]

This song is so clean. I've been looking for some new music and this ill lightweight caribbean vibe almost made made me forget it's 30* outside. Really diggin' the London scene the last few years. Check this out and let me know what you think.

Aside from his gritty determination to succeed, what sets Alex apart from other rappers is his ability to entertain the listener whilst remaining completely honest. Choosing to shy away from the stereotypical ‘guns, drugs, money and hoes’ content, the rapper delivers brutally candid and relatable accounts of his deprived childhood. The artist touts himself as a mouthpiece for people that grew up in broken homes who battle financial issues, self-doubt, and hardships on a daily basis- issues which are rife on his forthcoming debut album ‘Knock Down Ginger’.

Also a producer and engineer, Alex has been busy completing his debut album 'Knock Down Ginger’ for the last 5 years. The album takes its name from the popular kids’ game he grew up playing as he moved house from hostel to hostel during a childhood that would be completely foreign to most people. The name also pays homage to his physical characteristics, namely his ginger hair. Set for release 7th September 2018, ‘Knock Down Ginger’ is a collection of honest, strong, and sometimes controversial songs, including lead single ‘Emoji’ which tackles love, break-ups, and social media.

Andyva releases new video on Blockchain Record Label

Younk is a new Blockchain-enhanced record label allowing artists to be paid and earn distribution and promotion from their label. It's a really cool idea in the digital age and I'm really interested in seeing how it can grow.

A key component in the success of a new label is the talent! If a label has no flagship artists or talent what do you do. I just checked the new video from urban pop artist, Andyva for his new video, "Sexclusive".

The song itself represents a blend of a chill dance arrangement, sexy vocals and meaningful lyrics… something you don’t often hear in today’s music. Kurt gefke (producer and art director) told Younk “I mean it’s a throwback but it’s contemporary
It’s something that pretty much any generation can listen to”. Despite the challenge of expressing all of the messages and hidden meanings in one music video the team was able to create a perfect visionary.

Lexxa - "Slow Fade Out"

Got this in my email today and realized I'd been so busy running my professional basketball team that I'd been neglecting my favorite platform. Something about the email subject caught my attention and the song is dope. Something hip to blog to. I'm a fan. Check the official words:
On this Saint Valentine's day, kiwi alt-pop duo LEXXA share a vivacious new bop that is anything but a love day tribute. Sorry loved up relationship people, this one isn’t for you.

Co-written with the inimitable combined forces of Chelsea Jade, Jess B and Nakita at a recent APRA AMCOS SongHubs workshop, slow fade out is the follow up to Maude and Julia Morris’ earlier earworm get out. The latter premiered worldwide on US Billboard in November, and featured on Billboard’s Best of 2018 list as chosen by the chart team and readers.

With gutsy, heart-on-your-sleeve lyrics, the pair broach the nauseating undercurrents of millennial dating over expansive synth arrangements that pay homage to the 80s. slow fade out is a snapshot of a whirlwind romance gone cold; an emotional implosion brought on by the blurring of lines and misunderstandings over what is and what isn’t. It is the experience of a natural disintegration of a relationship, dragged out over the course of time without ever meaning for it to end, yet never really knowing where it began. A beautiful, messy accident.

Tensei releases Constellate via Tokyo Dawn

So here I am in sub-0 northeast Ohio sitting next to the fire place and working on ideas when I get an email coming through with some new album. I get a lot of singles, videos, mixtapes, etc. Most I'm not that keen on but this is pretty smooth. I love when a dope eclectic fusion project comes together.

In a time where there is so much division among people due to politics, deep rooted hate, and social injustice, Tensei choose to ‘Constellate’, drawing on the power of postive vibrations to provide an uplifting collection of modern soul fusion.

Tensei (meaning “Heaven Star” in Japanese) is the Chicago based producer tandem of Midas Wells and Chris Kramer. Spearheading a soulful, electronic and hip hop infused perspective to Chicago’s growing spiritual jazz movement, the tandem has enlisted the likes of Makaya McCraven, Greg Spero and Junius Paul among others for these compositions.

Ryan Leslie - "Forever My Love" EP

For those of you who've been following for a while you know I'm a Big Ryan Leslie fan. That dude is awesome, not just his production and writing but musicianship and business is dope. I think he doesn't get the nods he deserves but that lets me do my snobby little 'let's keep him underground so I can feel superior in conversations about best producers'. But forreal dude's dope. Being able to play multiple instruments (well) is like speaking different languages.

Anyway, I was logging on to audiomack to look for the music from 1 of my basketball players (fyi, I own a pro team) and saw Ryan's new album. Press play and enjoy with me.

Son of Multi-platinum Artist Steps into the Spotlight

I was actually talking to some booking agents to put some R&B concerts together and the name Rome came up. Fast forward to e-meeting El-Jay, who's not only the son of multi-platinum singer, Rome but a multi-talented artist, model, athelete in his own right. Check out his new single, "
